Flex PRO Ball Bearing VNT Turbo – Toyota Hilux N80 1GD-FTV 2.8L (2015–2020)

If you tow, tour or just want the 2.8 to pull properly, this is the turbo. The Flex PRO pairs a ball bearing centre section with a high-flow billet compressor wheel — the bearing gets it spinning early for strong low-down torque, and the billet wheel keeps the air coming up top where the factory unit runs out of puff. It’s a direct replacement for the standard turbo and ships with a conversion intake pipe, so the whole install stays bolt-on.

Power potential

On a tuned vehicle with intercooler, airbox and exhaust sorted, the Flex PRO will push the 1GD to around 265HP and 650Nm before the factory single-rotor injection pump becomes the ceiling. Step up to a stroker pump and 300+ WHP and 700Nm+ is on the table.

Specifications & fitment

• Bolts straight in place of the factory turbo
• Matches the OEM exhaust manifold, oil and coolant lines, and intercooler piping
• Boost rated to 36psi
• VNT stepper motor is not supplied — transfer your genuine stepper motor across from the original turbo

Note: Not suitable for the late-2020 onwards facelift Hilux (150kW 1GD), which uses a different turbo and manifold. Best results come with a matching tune; the stock ECU will run it but won’t get the most out of it.
